We, Apsara Training Institute for Skill Development and Management, started in 2002, with Rs. 15000 under the Kudumbashree Mission of Govt of Kerala, is a women social enterprise. We have evolved into a Skill Training/Skill Development and Management Institute over the years, offering training in around 150 job and enterprise skills to unemployed people, mainly women. We do handholding for enterprise startup by the trained persons. We manufacture around 3000 craft products, (textile/fabric, wood, natural fibers, recycled cloth and paper products, musical instruments, toys, event products etc.) We turned the 2020 lock down into an opportunity and provided employment to more than 5000 people, mainly women tailors, assuring their families decent life during the shutdown of all economic activities, while meeting an essential product requirement that the Pandemic created: we produced PPE Kits, Masks, Surgical Gowns, Ayurvedic Masks etc. in millions. Our craft products are unique.
