Developing World Trading Company was established as part of an educational project in 1984 for researching the import / export process of third world countries. In the late 1990's and up to 2006, DWTC was utilized as a consulting operation related to real estate ownership and small business operations. In early 2010, it became focused entirely on product sourcing in China and India. The company expanded into wine buying and selling in late 2010 by aligning itself with a number of Central Coast California wineries.
Developing World Trading Company also is engaged in sourcing seasonal textile categories and steel outdoor furniture for U.S. retailers.
