APAO- polymer for adhesive and sealant
APAO (Amorphous Poly Alpha Olefin) is an amorphous co-polymer of propylene and ethylene or other alpha-olefin produced by special catalyst.
Advantages of APAO are shown as follows:
As component in sealant:
APAO has good solubility with PIB (polyisobutene) or butyl rubber. Adding APAO in the formulation helps to improve processing property of PIB base sealants, improve the aging resistance and high/ low temperature property, as well as achiving a better shape, better looking and superior moisture resistance.
In hot melt adhesive, APAO exhibits/is:
1. Good adhesiveness to PP, PE, paper, metal and so on;
2. High temperature resistance;
3. Excellent electric and non- corrosive properties;
4. Good compatibility with SBS, EVA, and tackifier;
5. Solvent free and odorless;
6. Clean and environment-friendly;
7. Cost efficiency;
8. APAO based hot melt adhesive works in high moisture environments.
