Camphor essential oil is prepared from Cinnamomum Camphora from the family of Lauraceae known also as true camphor, gum camphor, hon-sho and Japanese/ Formosa camphor. The camphor herb repels moths and soothes muscle pain. The herb is crystalline and distilled from camphor tree roots.
The camphor tree is an evergreen tree which grows largely in Asia, Florida, South America and California. The smell is quite similar to turpentine. Camphor is used to repel the bugs. White camphor oil has a fresh and clear smell, however brown and yellow camphor is known to be toxic.
