Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) or – with mostly used name - Calcite is a brilliant, semi-transparent, comparatively soft, coarse crystalline mineral with the hardness of 3 (Moh’s) and the density of 2.7. Calcite extracted from Mining beds is micronized by subjecting to crushing, grinding and separating processes. It is marketed either as normal micronized or coated with stearic according to sectors’ requirements. Its main function is usage as filling material.
